Before the wedding begins, you're invited to gather at Ports of NY (just across the street from The Cherry Arts) for cocktails. The family members are eager to meet you and they may prompt you to practice some embarrassing stories for later on.
A wedding procession begins and guests makes their way into The Cherry Arts to await the Brides' etherial entrances. As the ceremony gets going the officiant invites guests to make a speech or share advice with the couple. You're welcome to prepare a little something in advance!
Act II The Cabaret
After the ceremony there will be a break for guests to take part in some wedding traditions and lawn games outside. Doubts from the Bride will be revealed and uninvited guests will make themselves known. The Wedding Planner will take the reigns and kick off a cabaret show with special guest performances from family members of the Brides. Expect dancing, singing, slapstick comedy and fabulous lipsyncing and more.
Hopefully the evening entertainment will diffuse the family drama that spills out.
Act III The After Party
Dessert is served and the toasts begins!
The musical guest for the evening will get the dance party going. Unfortunately the Wedding Planner may have gotten a few wires crossed and the entertainment is definitely not what the couple asked for. Thing may get wild with some dance offs and wedding games later on.
Kick off your shoes, hike up your skirts and get out on the dance floor to end this party right.
How is The Wedding Show Different from your average theatre show?
The Wedding Show:
Your ticket gets you access to food and drinks all night, multiple venues and spaces where you can explore and a dance party that you're invited to be a part of.
You're invited to more around, touch things, make noise, make speeches, and insert yourself in the action.
Trying to snack? Make it a bit! Open your drink loudly at an inopportune time. Get up and get food, make it comedy, or just do what makes your feel comfortable, no one is judging! We're here to have fun.
The cast is amongst you and they've devised the show and embodied characters that they created. They react to what you do and say and interact with you. As a result, you can influence the plot!
Your average theatre show:

You're expected to sit and watch and be relatively quiet until something spectacular happens.
